Greenpower Mobility - All-Energy Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles
Greenpower creates, builds and distributes a complete range of low-floor and high-floor electric heavy and medium-duty vehicles. This includes transit buses as well as school buses, as well as cargo buses and shuttles.
EV Star is a highly customizable zero-emission vehicle that's fully FTA certified, Altoona tested and Buy America conforming. It provides a wide range of options, ADA wheelchair provisions, and cargo delivery setups.
EV Star
GreenPower Motor Company produces a complete line of high-floor and low-floor all-electric heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles. The EV Star Cab & Chassis is their most popular vehicle and it is able to be adapted to meet a variety of applications. The platform's design is based on a clear paper that allows for optimal placement of the battery pack and a lower center-of-gravity. This results in higher range/payload ratios.
The EV Star REEFERX is designed to be used for mid-to-last mile refrigerated delivery and catering. are green power mobility scooters any good refrigerated trucks in class 4' one interior wall structure and higher insulation than conventional trucks, allows for seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer life span. The EV Star REEFERX provides superior capacity for cargo and a payload that is industry-leading to allow for zero emission goods or passenger transportation.
GreenPower has partnered with Perrone Robotics to up-fit the EV Star with their TONY (To Navigate You) autonomous vehicle system. This will allow fleets to easily change to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star can also be wirelessly charging up to 75 kW.
We were allowed to test drive the EV9 on an unpaved highway for several hours and found it easy to drive, and comfortable to drive long distances. The EV9 can block the sound of traffic and wind on the highway. It rides smoothly over bumps and ruts. The acceleration is surprisingly quick and the vehicle has adjustable regenerative braking that allows "one pedal driving" by taking off the accelerator.
The EV9 is extremely reliable and can be fully charged within three hours at home or using any commercial charger. Drivers can choose between two operating modes including eco mode and sports mode. The eco mode prioritizes torque and cruise control while the sport mode maximizes speed and handling. Both modes are fun to drive and provide an experience unlike any other for those who haven't been in a vehicle with an electrical system before.
In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other e-vehicles available, including a multi-purpose all-electric mini bus, called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used for executive shuttles, microtransit or transit vanpools, buses, or paratransit vehicles.
GreenPower is already producing about 10 EV Star buses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is working to replace their fleet of older diesel vehicles with 100 electric vehicles. GreenPower will increase production to meet the demands of the Biden Administration who is planning to electrify all school buses in America. Their EV Star bus is the first of its kind to be Altoona-tested and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant and ADA conforming. This means that they are eligible for federal transit assistance grants. Keep an eye on us as we follow the AV Star on its tour of demonstration later in the year. We will be sharing more details about this revolutionary EV.
